Programs for implementing training
This program consists of four instructional modules followed by a final evaluation.
Module 1: Learning Objectives
Module 1, An Introduction to Sustainability, focuses on understanding sustainability as it relates to energy. It provides a foundational perspective to help reshape how energy is perceived, used, and managed within energy projects. Through this module, participants gain the ability to:
• Identify shared resources used in daily life
• Establish a contextual understanding of sustainability and energy
• Examine personal and organizational energy consumption patterns
• Identify essential skills required for managing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects
Module 2: Learning Objectives
Module 2, Energy Efficiency and Retrofits, explores methods to reduce energy consumption through more efficient energy use. The module is divided into two parts.
In Part One, participants learn to:
• Define common terminology used in the energy sector
• Understand the purpose and value of an energy audit
• Identify energy efficiency retrofits that reduce energy use and support sustainability goals
In Part Two, participants learn to:
• Conduct financial analyses for energy efficiency projects
• Calculate emissions associated with energy use
Module 3: Learning Objectives
Module 3, Renewable Energy Resources and Generation, examines how homes and communities can generate their own energy and reduce reliance on nonrenewable sources. By the end of this module, participants are able to:
• Define renewable energy
• Compare and contrast different renewable energy sources
• Assess potential sites for renewable energy feasibility
Module 4: Learning Objectives
Module 4, Implementing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Solutions, focuses on the project life cycle and the practical steps involved in implementing sustainable energy initiatives at the community level. Upon completion, participants can:
• Outline the project management process for green energy implementation
• Define the purpose and benefits of a Community Energy Plan
• Describe the steps involved in developing a Community Energy Plan
• Identify pathways to becoming a sustainable energy leader within their community
Module 5: Learning Objectives
Module 5 consists of a final evaluation and comprehensive review of the content covered in the previous four modules. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate confirming completion of the program.
