The Strip & Downtown Express (SDX) Bus Rapid Transit line utilizes a hybrid vehicle painted glitzy gold, designed to look and feel like a train. The SDX uses bus-only and high-occupancy vehicle lanes, and bypasses most of the Strip in order to provide faster service.

The service launched along its 9-mile stretch in March 2010, and today carries over 14,000 passengers a day. The SDX doesn’t operate around the clock; it only runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The system also employs the best practice of Off-board Fare Collection.
