SB-1.1 Building Performance Rating Systems

The Green Building Council of Indonesia is currently drafting a green building rating system – called GREENSHIP – to determine a building’s eligibility for “green building” certification. GREENSHIP Indonesia is unique, as assessment tools in a given country must accommodate local circumstances.

GREENSHIP rates six aspects of a building’s sustainability:

  • Appropriate Site Development / ASD
  • Energy Efficiency & refrigerant / EER
  • Water Conservation / WAC
  • Material Resources & Cycle / MRC
  • Indoor Air Health & Comfort / IHC
  • Building & Environmental Management

Green Building Council Indonesia is an independent (non-government) and non-profit organization fully committed to applying environmental best practices to facilitate the transformation of the global sustainable building industry. GBCI is an emerging member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), based in Toronto, Canada. WGBC now consists of 89 countries and has only one GBC in each country.

INDONESIA GBC was founded in 2009 and its stakeholders include:

  • Professional construction services,
  • industrial sectors such as construction and property,
  • the government,
  • education and research institutions,
  • association of professional and community care environment.
