Smart Jobs & Consumers   –  Energy Efficiency Training Curricula:

SJ-1.2 Energy Efficiency Training Resources

“Communities across the country are strengthening their local manufacturing base and creating new jobs with the help of E3. E3 joins forces with local communities to connect small and medium-sized manufacturers with experts from federal agencies, states, and regions. As a framework, rather than a prescribed program, E3 can meet the unique needs of any community.

In each E3 community, teams conduct customized technical assessments and offer practical, sustainable approaches that manufacturers can incorporate into their operations. These assessments aim to reduce energy consumption, minimize carbon footprints, prevent pollution, increase productivity, and drive innovation throughout each facility.”

“E3 supports the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) a new Administration-wide initiative that will accelerate the resurgence of manufacturing and help communities cultivate an environment for businesses to create well-paying manufacturing jobs in cities across the country.

The IMCP Playbook pulls together existing federal planning grant and technical assistance resources and best practices in economic development. Following the Playbook’s three-step approach can help communities attract and expand manufacturing business and workforce opportunities.”

Product Examples:

"When manufacturers, communities, and utilities collaborate, the benefits reach far beyond manufacturers’ production lines. E3 communities strive to:

– Improve the profitability and competitiveness of local manufacturers.
– Attract new business.
– Stimulate the local economy by creating new, well-paying jobs and by helping to retain existing ones.
– Train and equip workers with the skills necessary to compete in a global economy.
– Minimize the frequency of abandoned manufacturing facilities.
– Advance the environmental and climate change goals of local governments and utilities.
– Enable utilities to expand their manufacturing customer base without increasing capacity."
