In February 2013, in Motoichi , “Smart City” in ” Efforts for Revitalization of Regional Vitality-Stage 2 “, which set out the “policy” showing the policy of the city and the measures to revitalize the city. With the promotion of “Aizuwakamatsu”, we have been promoting related efforts since then.
In addition, in the ” Aizuwakamatsu City 7th Comprehensive Plan ,” which plans for 10 years from 2017, “Smart City” is one of the three concepts that go through the entire plan. “Aizuwakamatsu” is positioned as an effective means for improving the overall administration of the city.
“Smart City Aizu Wakamatsu” utilizes ICT (information and communication technology) and environmental technology in various fields surrounding life such as health, welfare, education, disaster prevention, energy, transportation, and environment for the future. It is a general term for these various efforts, as it promotes the development of a sustainable and resilient local community and a town where people can live comfortably and with peace of mind.
Furthermore, among these efforts, those related to regional revitalization are summarized as the ” 2nd Aizuwakamatsu City Town / People / Work Creation Comprehensive Strategy ” and actively promote town development utilizing ICT. By doing so, we will create employment, maintain the population, and eventually revitalize the local economy.
