  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) pilot project and National AMI Deployment Plan in Chinese Taipei.

    The “National AMI Deployment Plan” has been approved by Chinese Taipei on 23th June 2010. The plan includes two parts, High Voltage and Low Voltage AMI deployment. The industrial (High Voltage) AMI deployment is aimed to be completed in 2012, with a total of 23,000 smart meters. The deployment target of residential (Low Voltage) AMI is 6 million meters, 50% of total residential meters. A pilot project for residential AMI, aiming at building up the full system operation, was kicked-off in 2010. The first stage of residential deployment target for 10,000 meters will be completed in 2012, allowing for technology and cost-benefit analysis. The second stage deployment target for 1 million meters will be completed in 2015, and the final stage deployment plan of 5 million more meters will follow with an undeclared timeline.

  • Off-shore Island Electric Motorcycle Promotion Program

    Launched in March, 2012, the Offshore Island Electric Motorcycle Promotion Program in Liuqiu, Chinese Taipei, aims to
    achieve a “Green Transport Island.” The program provides 300 scooters on the island with 4 battery exchange charging stations located around the island.

  • Chinese Taipei iEV Pilot Run Project

    The Taiwanese Government has been working hard to promote the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Industry. In April 2010, the Taiwanese Government promulgated the “Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development Strategies and Action Plans,” aimed at enhancing this industry through 5 approaches: setting up Energy saving and Carbon Reduction regulation; performing Pilot Run Project; giving EV purchase incentive; setting up infrastructure; and enhancing Industry Evolution. The total budget for the program will be US$300m.

  • The Sustainable Campus Program in Chinese Taipei

    The Ministry of Education (MOE) advocated two major facilities construction projects “Restoration and Maintenance of Ecological Environment” and “Sustainable Building”, in order to establish a progressive, safe, healthy and people-oriented learning environment. In terms of software, it innovated unique teaching materials that could showcase each school’s special features. Through collaborations with neighboring schools, a tight environmental education alliance network has been formed, thereby creating a distinct public space that characterizes its community.
