Smart City Iskandar Malaysia is an added value enabler and an initiative that aims to provide ease of doing business as well as improve living quality in Iskandar Malaysia. Smart City Iskandar Malaysia is a programme that serves as a tool to accelerate Iskandar Malaysia towards achieving its vision.
Focusing on 3 areas namely Economy, Environment and Social and promoting dimensions namely Smart Economy, Smart Governance, Smart Environment, Smart Mobility, Smart People and Smart Living. The 6 dimensions serve to guide Iskandar Malaysia on its journey towards becoming a Smart City. The projects listed under Smart City Iskandar Malaysia were identified from Iskandar Malaysia’s blueprints.
Green Economy Guideline
Green Economy Guideline (GEG) manual serves as a guide on how to grow green in all sectors promoted within Iskandar Malaysia. The manual is drawn up with the help of government ministries and agencies, business associations, local bodies, international agencies and IRDA business teams to help businesses and industries to adopt and inculcate environmentally sustainable economic behaviour that will lead to the creation of a prosperous, resilient, robust and globally competitive green economy in Iskandar Malaysia. The key focus areas identified in the Green Economy Guidelines are energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management, water management, green procurement, human capital development and green accounting.
EV Car and Charging Stations
Cohesive Mobility Solution (COMOS) is an urban mobility solution that is Smart, Convenient and Green. This initiative is driven through a Public-Private Partnership involving a few key stakeholders namely Ministry of International Trade and Industry MITI) and Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHa). COMOS has 3 core business activities namely EV Car Sharing, EV EcoRide and EV Copporate Branding and Leasing.
Installation of electric charging stations in Iskandar Malaysia has been part of promoting green transportation in this economic region. GreenTech Malaysia has developed “ChargEv” network, a uniform, copporate identity for EV charging stations in Malaysia.
