In continuing the implementation of the Exemplary Leadership Government Programme (GLBE) in 2011 and the Achieving Sustainability Through Energy Efficiency (SAVE) Programme under the Initial Project 9 (EPP 9) – Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) for oil, gas and energy, SEDA Malaysia has identified four (4) training programmes to support the implementation of these initiatives. This training programme has been identified by the Strategic Reform Initiative (SRI), an initiative introduced by the Performance Management and Implementation Unit, PEMANDU to support the implementation of the programme and improve capacity and knowledge while at the same time paying attention to the needs of human capital in more specific areas under EPP9.
Since 2013, the Technical Development and Facilitation Unit (TDF) has organised and experience in conducting several energy efficiency and energy management awareness training programmes with local authorities and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). For the training programme, the TDF Unit has developed four modules of energy efficiency and energy management training. Since 2013, TDF has been organizing awareness training based on this training module. The training module is as stated below:
1. In-Building Energy Management(Eligibility for CDP ST for Energy Manager – 12 marks);
2. Principles and Applications for Malaysian Standards MS1525: Code of Practice on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Use for Non-Housing Buildings(Eligibility for CDP ST for Energy Managers – 8 marks and CPD MBOT – 12 marks);
3. Energy Efficiency Management for Air Conditioning and Mechanical Air Diversion Systems (ACMV)(Eligible for ST’s CDP for Energy Manager – 8 points and MBOT’s CPD – 12 points);
4. In-Building Energy Audit(Eligibility for CDP ST for Energy Manager – 10 marks);
