Yokohama Smart City Project (YSCP)

As one of the largest cities in Japan, Yokohama aims to build the ”Next Generation Energy Infrastructure and Social System” that maximizes CO2 reduction at the forefront of innovation. The know‐how will be leveraged to deploy abroad as a city‐scale infrastructure package. The attached document outlines the steps necessary to the completion of the project.



What are CO2 emissions reduction target and date to achieve this?

GHG emissions reduction per person of over 30% by 2025 and 60% by 2050 (compared to the 2004 level).

Estimated CO2 emissions before and after the completion of the project

By the end of 2014, it aims to reduce CO2 emissions by about 64,000 t-CO2.
