Jinan’s Bus Rapid Transit System began operating in 2008, and now extends of 14.7 km (of which only 13.7 are comprised of dedicated busway), and 22 stations.

The line is served by 15 Articulated Buses (run on Diesel, with 3 Doors) and 40 Conventional Feeder Buses with 2 doors on each side (0.75) to help facilitate the faster loading and unloading of passengers. Automatic fare collection also helps expedite the process.

Because Jinan BRT stations are situated in the median lane, they double as locations for pedestrians and cyclists crossing busy roads to take refuge from traffic.
