SJ-2.2 Energy Efficiency Educational Resources

Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

This is the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's curriculum for energy efficiency education. Information about Elementary, Secondary, and University-level education materials is included.

Available content is web-based – see below (Chinese-language only). Further, a number of institutes organize energy technology project competitions for student participation, and student visits to various venues in order to raise awareness of energy efficiency and conservation.

Elementary School Program

Self-guided material appropriate for elementary school education can be found here.

The Education Bureau will oversee the effectiveness of respective Curriculum and review the guide.

Secondary School Program

“Energy Technology and the Environment” module of Liberal Studies of New Senior Secondary Curriculum. Additional content is available on the web – see below (Chinese-language only). Further, a number of institutes organize energy technology project competitions for student participation, and student visits to various venues in order to raise awareness of energy efficiency and conservation. Education Kits are also produced by Power Companies and the Government. e.g. here.

Teachers will assess in accordance with “Liberal Studies Curriculum and Assessment Guide”; and textbook publishers or teachers provide/prepare the material such as quiz, tests etc. Teacher notes are supplied primarily by textbook publishers.
