Low Carbon Model Towns (LCMT) combine the four pillars that make up the Energy Smart Communities Initiative: energy-efficient buildings, transport and power grids come together to create communities that affordably reduce energy use and carbon emissions while creating jobs.

ESCI will establish a network of LCMTs around the Asia-Pacific region. Successful approaches will be compiled into a set of best practices for developing LCMTs in developed and developing economies.
